Lady Dea. Talana D. Watson
Mrs. Talana Denise Everett Watson, a native of Salisbury, MD, is the daughter of the late Floyd S. Wright, Jr., Queenie E. Fisher, and Edward Fisher. As a child, she grew up in the small community of Parsonsburg, MD under the care and guidance of her grandfather, the late Elder Wilmer H. Parker.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Rev. Lewis N. Watson on May 2, 1987 and became First Lady of First Baptist Church upon his appointment as Pastor. She is the proud mother of Rev. Kenneth (Kanika), Amaris (Rev. Brandon), and Christina (Stephen), and g-mom of Kaden, Alana, Grace, Lailah, and Karis.
In December 1986, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a Management Concentration from Salisbury University. In June 2005, she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Mortuary Science from the Community College of Baltimore County—Catonsville Campus.
Professionally, her career began in banking from 1978 to 1995. She gained valuable knowledge in Residential Mortgage Lending and was employed by Loyola Federal Savings and Loan (now Truist Bank) and Second National Building and Loan Association. Currently, Mrs. Watson is a licensed mortician, cemeterian, insurance agent, and along with her husband, shares in the operation and ownership of the Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home, P.A. and Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc.
In ministry, she serves as Deacon, Director of Christian Education, and a member of the Board of Managers and Finance Ministry. Her memberships include: International Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Maryland Cemetery, Funeral and Cremation Association, Delmarva Funeral Service Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and board member of Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County; Past membership as board member of United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore.
