Science Degree in Special Education in May 1986. Rev. Watson earned an Associate
of Arts Degree in Mortuary Science from the Catonsville Community College,
Catonsville, MD.

Prior to his graduation from UMES, Rev. Judson C. Mills ordained him in April 1982,
the pastor of First Baptist at that time. Shortly thereafter, he became Co-Pastor of First
Baptist. After the demise of Rev. Mills in October 1988, Rev. Watson was chosen and
called to carry on the mission of First Baptist as Pastor on December 5, 1988.

Being an ambitious young man who had experience in the funeral industry, he fulfilled
a dream, and along with his wife, the former Talana D. Everett, established his
business in July 1986, now the Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury, MD. With
his marketing ability and vision, the business has grown over the years. Rev. Watson,
along with his wife, is also the owner of Green Acres Memorial Park, Inc.

Not only has Rev. Watson grown professionally, but also he has grown theologically in
that he has attended St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD and earned a
Master of Ministry Degree in Christian Education from the Chesapeake Bible
Seminary, Queenstown, MD and a Master of Divinity Degree from Shiloh Theological
Seminary in Stafford, VA.

Many projects and ministries have been implemented under the pastorate of Rev.
Watson; namely, organization of four choirs, youth and adult praise teams, radio
ministry, youth and adult bible study, weekly soup kitchen for the homeless, brown bag
ministry for senior citizens and the needy, security ministry, men’s ministry, women’s
ministry, lost sheep ministry, creative movement ministry, singles ministry, health
ministry; renovation of parsonage, repairs and/or additions to old sanctuary, the payoff
of substantial debts and in November 1994 the completion of a new sanctuary with a
seating capacity of 700 people. In October 1996 the payoff of the second mortgage
was accomplished. He has led the church to purchase several properties in the name
of the church for the purpose of future economic development. In July 2002, Pastor
Watson led First Baptist into the mortgage burning of the new sanctuary, $800,000
project. On July 29, 2005 he led First Baptist into a 2.5 million dollar, 18, 000 square
foot Family Life & Cultural Center.

Other memberships include: Progressive National Baptist Convention, National
Baptist Convention USA, Kingdom Association of Covenant Pastors, NAACP,
Outstanding Young Men of America, Life Member of National Registry Who’s Who
1997, Maryland Funeral Directors and Morticians Association, where he serves as
Chaplain and a member of the National Funeral Directors and Morticians Association,
and a member of the Executive Board of Directors for Chamber of Commerce. He is
also a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., F & A M Masonic Lodge Lamech
#30.

Not only is Rev. Watson a professional, dedicated and committed pastor, he is a
loving father and special daddy to one son, Kenneth, and two daughters, Amaris and
Christina.

( Romans 8:31). Rev. Lewis N. Watson, a man of
God and the humble pastor of the First Baptist
Church, has believed this motto from the time he
began preaching through this present day.

He was born in Selbyville, DE to Lewis N. and
Lottie Watson-Harmon. His family relocated to
Salisbury when he was very young. There, he
attended the public schools of Wicomico County.

Upon graduating from high school, Rev. Watson
matriculated at Salisbury State University and the
University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Princess
Anne, MD where he earned a Bachelor of
First Baptist Church of Salisbury, MD
